iProsperity Group (iPG) today has announced the appointment of John Landerer, CBE AM LLB (Syd.) Hon LLD (Macq.) as Chairman of the Company.

Mr Landerer will assume the newly created Chairman’s position immediately, bringing to the table five decades of valued legal and commercial experience based on his extensive legal practice and his involvement as Chairman or Director in no less than 11 public companies and many private companies.

iPG Group CEO, Michael Gu, said, “Our business has grown significantly, and the time was right to appoint a Chairman. John brings expertise to iPG that is unique in this market, having extensive experience in hotel ownership. We are delighted to welcome him to iPG and are extremely excited about the role he will play developing our business.”

Mr Landerer founded Landerer & Company in 1973. Under his leadership the firm has become prominent in the field of commerce, real estate and litigation.

In 1990 he became a Member of the Order of Australia, such award being granted for his contribution to law.

In 1997 he became a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to law in the United Kingdom.

Speaking about his new position, Mr Landerer commented, “I’ve been dealing with Michael for a number of years and I have admired how iPG has developed from strength to strength. I’m honoured to join the team and hope to help iPG grow even stronger.”

Mr Landerer was President of the Sydney Jewish Museum and was on the Board of the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children as well as the Garvan Foundation. He was also Chairman of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Research Foundation at the University of Sydney. He has recently been appointed Chairman of Prince’s Trust Australia.
